All students that want to pursue psychology need to have a working knowledge of math, namely statistics. Do not worry because it may not be a requirement to take at your high school. If you are able to take statistics in high school and do so successfully, then that is wonderful. However, for many students taking this math course may occur in college. For students that have a challenge with math, you can use the program MyMathLab or MyStatLab. MyMathLab is a program that comes with various math text books. When you purchase MyMathLab, you will notice that it includes an access code for online accessibility to the program itself. After creating a log-in and password, students can log in and access the program. The program offers randomized quizzes, tests, and homework problems. Amazingly, MyMathLab gives students real-time feedback on the problems that they answer. So, if the problem the student answered is incorrect, then the program will give an indication that the wrong answer (a video below will demonstrate). Also, the program gives students hints and reviews math rules to help students solve problems. A student can ask the program to show how to solve a particular problem or give hints/tips on a particular step of the problem. This math program has helped countless students improve their grades in math; yet, students should still practice the problems consistently each day or every other day to see real improvement.
